Welcome to Alaska’s Blooming Beauties! We have been learning about Alaska and wanted to learn about wildflowers but couldn't find anything in the kids section at the library, or on the web, on this topic so we decided to make a helpful webpage. Our focus is for kids like us to learn about Alaska’s wildflowers in a fun way. We also tried to make this site teacher friendly and useful. We were fortunate enough to be able to attend a college lecture by Verna Pratt, a well known Naturalist in the Anchorage area. Although there are over 1,500 species of wild flowers in Alaska, we chose our favorites to give you a glimpse of Alaska’s vast beauty.  You can enjoy these flowers in many national parks and areas throughout the State,  but please don’t pick them because others would like to see them too. It is also against the law in some areas, such as parks, to pick the flowers. Please enjoy our Web Pages and remember, that "a picture is worth a thousand words."

This educational site was provided by a group of homeschooled kids in the IDEA program for the ThinkQuest Junior contest.

We would appreciate it if you would sign our guestbook.  We welcome comments and suggestions!
