Everyone has their own ways of celebrating New Year Holidays. In Southeast Asia there is a specific New Years Holiday tht Southeast Asians celebrate. It's called Tet. Tet is a three day festival. A few days before the New Years come, shops become crowded with people buying presents for their family and friends. The streets are ablaze with colored lanterns and decorated booths. On the Eve of the Tet, Buddhist families may come together before an altar. They pray for the spirits of their ancestors and invite them to their holiday festivities. Outside the fireworks are set off. Decorations of gold and red papers are put up everywhere. Children receive money in red envelopes.
