Acknowledgments:
We want to express our appreciation to the ThinkQuest Jr. organization for giving us this opportunity to learn and allowing us express ourselves in ways we didn't know were possible. We didn't realize what we could do it, until we did it!
A special thanks to Mr. Nelson Fugate of the Mineral Information Institute in Colorado. Their site provides a wealth of information on the subject of minerals and rocks. They generously allowed us to access anything we needed at their site.
The Roc Docs, as we refer to them in our own short-hand language, gave us tremendous support and took time away from their busy schedules to help us out and serve as our consultants. Dr. Bill Witherspoon of the Fernbank Museum in Atlanta gave us "rock" solid answers to our questions.
Dr. Timothy LaTour from Georgia State University spent hours and hours helping us by suggesting internet and book resources. He also wrote answers to our questions in a fascinating way that makes them fun to read. He teaches college students, but he knew how to teach us as well. He took very complex subjects and explained them in simpler ways and helped to make the subject come alive for us. We want to express our deep appreciation for his efforts. He certainly went above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks!
