Conflict In the Wetlands
This site is created as a worldwide wetland resource by students in South Florida. We are part of a project in which 70 6th grade students work as volunteer naturalists in a local wetland called West Lake Park. We invite students from all over the world to join us in being activists for wetland preservation.
West Lake Park is a refuge for many animals, especially fish and birds and mangroves. Since the early 1950's many housing developers have been closing in on the wetlands. This has reduced the number of wetlands and breeding areas for fish, birds and other wildlife.
The Mission of the Project

This project will explore what young people can do to protect and preserve wetlands by sharing information worldwide.
