I read the book, Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. Margaret just moved from New York to New Jersey. She is going through adolescence. Each day she talks to God and asks God to help her through adolescence. Some of the things she must consult God about include getting breasts and starting her period for the first time. Her friends are Nancy and Gretchen; all three of them are into boys and puberty. Margaret is very scared to go to her new school. Her teacher's name is Mr. Benedict and one of the assignments is that she has is to tell what religion she is. She is half Jewish and half Christian. All of her friends are Jewish. Her parents told her when she was old enough that she could choose what religion she wants to be. You'll have to read the book for yourself to see what religion she picks. To find out what happens to Margaret and her life in New Jersey, read the book.

A funny moment in the book was when she was at a party and she stuffed her bra. "I kept thinking of those six cotton balls." "They weren't so far below my neck."

What I really liked about this book was that it allows girls to understand that they are not the only ones going through this. I think all girls should read this. Judy Blume is a great writer and I think this is one of her best books. What inspired me to read this book is that many of my friends, who are girls told me about it.
